More details have surfaced surrounding Dolly Parton’s Nashville hotel and museum.
Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum, titled “project bouffant museum” in building permits, will open in 2026 on the third floor of her SongTeller Hotel, at 211 Commerce St., according to the museum’s website.
“Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum invites fans to experience Dolly’s expansive career and most personal memories through the eyes of Dolly herself,” the website says.
It will be the “largest exhibit celebrating her life in the world to date,” showcasing her career throughout every decade.
A rendering for the space, seen at the top of the page, features lots of golds, light purples and pinks with flower-petaled chandeliers and gold couches. A $5.5 million building permit filed last week revealed that Florida-based AOA, the team behind The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, is the lead architect.
The 12-story SongTeller Hotel, set to open in spring 2026, will feature an entertainment venue and on-site dining.
“In every corner, you’ll find playful pieces of art and decor, accompanied by a soundtrack that reflects Dolly’s incredible music career,” SongTeller’s website says. “SongTeller Hotel, Nashville celebrates the people, talent and setting of the destination, weaving the local music and culinary scenes together.”
Shannon Foster will serve as general manager of SongTeller Hotel.
Parton purchased the 211 Commerce office building for $75 million in 2023, landing a $45 million permit in winter 2024 to convert the space to hotel use.
